My lovely niece is turning one. She’s a doll. Her chipmunk faces and toothy smiles are the best. Just the right thing to brighten anyone’s day. I’m envious that her mom and dad get to see that smile whenever they desire…except when she’s not in the mood.
For her birthday, I made her a bean bag (it’s on the way to her as we speak). Bean bags are awesome. Especially when they’re cute and made with love. I made my nephew a bean bag on his first birthday and it’s reportedly highly used and well-loved! Even more so as he’s gotten older, (he’s 2 1/2 now).
They’re Dr. Seuss lovers.
This bean bag tutorial is simple with easy to understand step by step instructions. It takes 6 yards of fabric total (3 being muslin or other simple liner…you could even use scraps from other projects!) with about 30″ of hook & loop tape (velcro for you non-sewing people). If you’re a savvy shopper you could make this bean bag relatively inexpensive in comparison to store-bought bean bags.
